Asok and Sukhumvit

Asok and Sukhumvit is one of the busiest intersections in Thailand. The city is an amalgamation of ancient temples, clogged waterways, pulsating streets, Seven Elevens, and highways. Asok and Sukhumvit converge at one of the two most important thoroughfares in the city, bringing together the Skytrain and the subway; it is where two highways become one and where street vendors, business people and prostitutes all coexist symbiotically. It is therefore a place well chosen for one of the biggest billboards in the city and for this photograph, which was taken in order to capture the shadows of the beings that circle the city on their mechanical horses, with speed in their hair and smoke in their lungs.
