GENTLEMAN RIDER REDUX

Posted by: Nick Maggio
Back when tracks were "board" and men were "gentle", the attire lent itself more to social acceptance than safety. And damn well it should have. Men didn't care about spilling at 100 mph on a rough cut board tracks wearing nothing more than a wool sweater and leather cap. NO, they cared about winning, and looking damn good doing it. After all, nothing is worth doing if it can't be done in style. Who said that? Churchill? Well, never the less, he should have...
Since these days it's more likely to get a ticket for no helmet than a fashion citation by angry spectators, maybe the idea of an update is in order. Inspired by the rough and rugged, badass gentleman of days gone by... a nod, no...a salute, to those fine men, their impeccable, effortless fashion sense, and their unwavering desire for excellence both on and off the track. Just because you have to be exposed to the elements and dodge Escalades like it's your job, doesn't mean you should neglect the finer things in life. Be careful because you never know who might not be paying attention, or more importantly, who is.
